Synopsis: “Runner” from State of Horror: Louisiana Volume I
In the middle of a hurricane Georgie sees his chance to get rich quick by stealing from the swamp with nearby who supposedly has gold hidden in her shack.  After braving the hurricane in his small boat with his wife Paula, Georgie finds the witch and kills her taking her cursed coin.  She laughs as she dies telling Georgie about the curse he now has. Georgie becomes invisible except to the demon chasing him and he begins to run.  Only evil people can see the cursed person and the cursed person has to give away the coin to escape the demon—except they usually die.  Georgie manages to pass the coin to a kid named Ralphie before he dies.  Ralphie’s friends, Tommy and Chuck begin looking for him.  Eventually Chuck and Tommy both become runners, even though only Chuck gets the coin.  Tommy and Chuck are now pulled into the chase, but now the question is: Can they escape?

Pain etched his features bringing tears from his eyes. His body trembled as he struggled to force out a word.
“Run.”
A rush of air left his throat and his eyes closed.
