State of Horror: Illinois Audio Book Edition with Armand Rosamilia

SoH IL audiobook feature author Armand Rosamilia

AUDIO BOOK: State of Horror: Illinois
RELEASE: February 2015
STORY: Dying Days: Great Mistake

In 2015, Charon Coin Press embarked on a new adventure when the decision was made to release State of Horror: Illinois in the audio book format. We sought out the voice talent of Jack Wallen. From the first demo, it was easy to see Charon Coin Press had found the voice of the series.

Today, we would like to visit with one of the State of Horror: Illinois authors, and creator of the series, Armand Rosamilia. His story, “Dying Days: Great Mistake”, is one of 13 stories in the collection. It was an easy decision to feature Rosamilia as he will be providing chills with a new Dying Days in each of the State of Horror releases. Let’s take some time to get his thoughts on the new audio book.

Charon Coin Press: What do you think about your story being translated into an audio format?
Armand Rosamilia: Audiobooks are the next big thing, hopefully… yet another way to reach an audience. Win/win for readers and authors.
CCP: What aspect of your story do you feel is enhanced by being heard as opposed to read?
AR: Hopefully the creepiness of a good horror story comes out with the narration, especially since Jack Wallen is doing it. He’s great to work with and he’s actually done other “Dying Days” -related audiobooks for me in the past, so it is great to have him narrating this new “Dying Days” zombie tale as well.
CCP: What books have most influenced your life?
AR: Dean Koontz books at an early age. The Rising by Brian Keene as far as zombies are concerned. I read a ton of nonfiction books now and get some great ideas for characters and stories, too.
CCP: Do you have a favorite monster/horror character?
AR: Godzilla and the Kaiju I grew up watching on Saturday afternoons as a kid still intrigues me. I love giant monsters for some reason.
CCP: What do you see as the perfect setting for listening to State of Horror: Illinois?
AR: In my comfy recliner in my living room with no lights on. While someone feeds me M&M’s so I can concentrate on the audio book.
