SUBMISSION UPDATE: California Gets a Stay of Execution

State of Horror California DeadlineThe decision to open California as the next stage in the State of Horror anthology series, was an easy one. The previous release of the book contained six great stories. We at Charon Coin Press, wanted to have every opportunity to make this book as amazing as possible as we round the number to thirteen great California stories of horror. In order to do so, and in light of the holidays, we will be extending the open submissions deadline to January 31, 2015. The decision to move the deadline is based on the idea of family time and we wanted to make sure nobody changed their holiday plans or felt pressure to take time away from friends and family for the submission deadline. This move will allow four more weeks for your story to be crafted. For those who have already submitted thank you. For those who are working on the story, take the extra time to explore. And for those who haven’t started because of the earlier deadline, please consider starting a story and submitted it for California. We would like to see as many submissions as possible because California is one of our largest states and one of our biggest populated areas. California holds much promise as fertile ground for a State of Horror story.

So thank you to all of you who have been involved in the State of Horror anthologies during 2014.  We look forward to each of you working with us as we expand the anthology into the next year. Look for new open submissions starting in February. Enjoy the holidays upon us.
